After the failure at the inn, Nanashi's prospects didn't seem too bright. Although he wasn't adverse to sleeping outside, generally when he chose to do so it was on his own terms and there often wasn't quite so many people around as there was in Mythraegal. In fact, there were so many people in Mythraegal that Nanashi was starting to feel a bit nauseous just from being around them all. After having seen all of the activity over by the inn, he assumed that the other half of the city had to be empty- there were so many people in the Western quarter that he couldn't believe that the entire city's populous hadn't been there. But he found that his assumption had been wrong, as somehow there were even more people flooding the streets of the East quarter. Nanashi gave an exasperated sigh before slipping into the shadows of a deserted alleyway, hoping for a bit of peace and quiet...but of course, he wasn't that lucky. "HELP! Somebody help me!" Upon hearing the cry for assistance, Nanashi did something that he hadn't done in a very long time- frown. There simply was no getting away from people in this city. All the more reason to get into the Labyrinth as quickly as possible...but for that, he would need funds. The Ninja continued down the alleyway towards the sound of the cries and came across three men harassing a woman. There was nothing notable about the group aside from the fact that the woman had a pearl necklace and the three goons seemed to not have had a bath in a considerable amount of time. Nanashi slipped a kunai into his right hand and held it loosely, giving it a couple of spins in an irresponsible sort of way before calling out, I'm afraid that I'll have to ask you lot to leave." He motioned with the kunai to point out who 'you lot' were before throwing the knife across his chest into his left hand, spinning it there. The muggers turned to face the Ninja and the one who'd actually been accosting the woman while the other two stood around like idiots spat in his direction, revealing the knife that he'd been brandishing, "Just mosey away and we won't gut ye like a fish, laddie." Nanashi merely shrugged at the man's warning before leaning forward and placing a hand on his chest, "I'm afraid that I must respectfully decline." The lead mugger growled, "Ye asked for it, lad." before lunging forward with the dagger, rushing the grinning Ninja with the intent to kill... It had only taken a couple of seconds to dispose of the three men, who now lay in a crumpled heap at the Ninja's feet. He gingerly stepped over the body immediately in front of him and approached the woman with a disarming smile, "I trust that they didn't hurt you?" She shook her head and gave a relieved sigh, "No, all thanks to you. What can I ever do to repay your kindness?" Now, that was an intriguing offer. He briefly considered asking for a bed for the night, but that hadn't gone so well at the inn. So, he went for a much more tactful approach...and raised the blade of the kunai to the woman's throat with a smile, "You can start by handing over all of your money." The woman's jaw dropped as she just started at him for a long while before yelling, "...E-EH?!"

He had been in the city for a few days now, looking far and wide for those in need of his gifts. He didn't find many, a few beggars or unfortunate people was about it. Nonetheless, he tried to the best of his ability to help each and every one of them. He gave them whatever food he had, money too for it was right to give to those that didn't have.
Once he was done, he sent them on their way, blessing them with prayers. People he past in the streets were given blessings too; May the Light watch over you or Io be with you, (the Order's deity). Some people thanked him for the kindness, others gave him bewildered looks. Sadly, the Lotus Order wasn't widely known here, nor did its influence reach. Nevertheless, he'd do his best to spread the love and care of Io to everyone.
During his daily walk through the streets of Mythraegal, Kai came across an alley where, out of the corner of his eye, noticed people in here, both conscious and unconscious. His base instinct shot up and pierced his exterior shell, causing him to spin to the side and prepare for hostility. Unfortunately for him, there was none. All he accomplished was making him look foolish to those walking by. He lost concentration for a brief moment to flush at his mistake. Then his focus returned and he stood up straighter, clasping his hands behind his back. From there, he walked slowly down the alley towards the two people, a man and a woman. the woman looked frightened so Kai believed the man was threatening her and was possibly armed. Instead of jumping in all gungho, he stopped a few meters from them and bowed.
"Pardon my intrusion but may I ask what happened here, as well as what's going on?"
He came back up and smiled happily, closing his eyes and displaying a look of innocence. The monk stood before them dressed in a long white tunic, belted at his waist, said tunic reaching down to his knees. Besides that, the silvery-haired man had on a pair of dull gray, skin tight, slim leather boots. These boots were different in the fact his toes and heels were exposed, as if those parts of the boots were cut away.[/style][STYLE= font-family: franklin gothic medium; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; color: #373737;]MADE BY CYANIDE CANDY ✖[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:300px, btable][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px; margin-top: 09px;]❝ Nanashi ❞[/style][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; margin-top: 05px; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px;]❝ 403 words ❞[/style][STYLE= margin-top: 05px; height: 100px; width: 100px; border-bottom-right-radius: 30px; border: #373737 solid 10px; background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/msdjdk.png);][/style][STYLE= color: #373737; font-size: 80px; margin-top: -43px; margin-left: -09px;]◤[/style]

He'd just been getting to the good part when an interloper appeared. Drat. Nanashi turned away from the woman to address the newcomer, although he didn't bother hiding the knife. "I don't mind at all. You asking, that is. But I'm afraid that you're not going to get an answer, ah-" He noticed that the woman had tried to escape while he was distracted and had already moved some fifteen feet away from his position. The Ninja's smile faded a bit as he whipped his hand to the side, letting the kunai slip from his grasp in the woman's direction...and it landed right on target.
The woman herself wasn't the target, no, that was her shadow. Kagenui- a technique so simple that even a child could do it, if shown how. Despite the technique's simplicity, it had the desired effect. As the kunai landed in the ground within the woman's shadow, she suddenly stopped running and yelped from pain. She reached down and grabbed one of her legs, seemingly trying to pull it off the ground, but her legs would not move- not with their feet pinned to the ground, at least. Nanashi cupped a hand around his mouth and turned his head toward the woman, calling out, "Apologies!" before turning his attention back to the interloper. "To you as well, my friend. She was being very rude." He gave a very slight bow, smirking wickedly.

His innocent smile faded to a look of disappointment. For an instant, he doubted himself, that Io had chosen wrong with him. That was quickly overcome and his expression become one of anticipation and curiosity. However, it didn't last as his eyebrow twitched in response to the young man's wicked act of harm onto the woman. He didn't recognize what exactly was done but he saw the effects, she was bound. His next expression was a mixture of sadness and confusion. Why would he do that to her? That was an evil deed and he should be punished.
"Sir, I must ask you to stand down and release her. Please, do not harm her, she has done nothing towards you. From what I can see, you dispatched these ruffians only to take her for yourself. That is sinful and against the ways of Io. For your safety, I implore you, renounce your wicked ways and walk in the Light!"
Kai was begging the guy. He had a feeling they might have to fight but that would be needless violence. He disliked that and so did Io. If he had to, he'd offer his person in place of the woman. It was the least he could do to spare her any harm. It was his duty to defend the weak, punish the wicked but to always do whatever was necessary for the former, the latter coming in second. Unless the young man purposely attacked Kai, he'd do his utmost best to avoid physical conflict. He wasn't a big fan of fighting, not unless he had to.[/style][STYLE= font-family: franklin gothic medium; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; color: #373737;]MADE BY CYANIDE CANDY ✖[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:300px, btable][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px; margin-top: 09px;]❝ Nanashi ❞[/style][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; margin-top: 05px; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px;]❝ 274 words ❞[/style][STYLE= margin-top: 05px; height: 100px; width: 100px; border-bottom-right-radius: 30px; border: #373737 solid 10px; background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/msdjdk.png);][/style][STYLE= color: #373737; font-size: 80px; margin-top: -43px; margin-left: -09px;]◤[/style]

At the Monk's words, Nanashi simply closed his eyes and responded with a simple, "Heh..." In truth, it was all that he could do to keep from bursting out with laughter. Take the woman for himself...? That hadn't even crossed his mind, even now when his attention had been brought to the suggestion, he still didn't give it any weight. What was with the people in this city? Always misunderstanding him...but, there was no reason that he couldn't have some fun with this man, if only to stave off boredom for another couple of minutes, "Io? Is that you referring to yourself in third person or just your imaginary friend?"
For all of the Ninja's bluster, he didn't particularly wish to fight either. Not that he had any doubts as to whether or not he would win, but it just wasn't in him right now, starved and exhausted as he was. "Either way, I'm afraid that you're mistaken, friend. That's a bad habit you have there; assuming..." He motioned towards the bound woman with his thumb, "You see, she was the one who beat up those three helpless Fishermen, and she did it only for their earnings, despite being as wealthy as she is. I imagine she gets some kind of sick thrill from it..." The woman turned her head to the side and yelled, "He's lying!", but Nanashi responded to the accusation with a shrug and smiled at the Monk, "And what could a captured criminal do, but proclaim their innocence? So, you have a choice, Boyo. You can try to take me in, or you can take her in. What'll it be?"

It was only a moment before he visibly calmed himself. People could do whatever to him and he'd endure it but against Io, no, that was unforgivable. Then again, the Order told him that all people were ignorant to the way of Io. So it was understandable that he would be unenlightened. Still, Kai had a bad feeling about that shady person.
"Io is the Father of us all, not some imaginary person. I won't get too much into that, you peg me as one that is lost in the darkness, your own ignorance blinding you and giving heed to the wickedness deep in your heart." He shook his head. "I doubt she alone could take on three fishermen without any weapons. There are other little things that I could mention but I believe her over you. I was taught not to judge a book by its cover but you've also given me a sample of your story. You're the bad guy here."
The silver haired monk exhaled deeply. Lying was not the way of Io, this man already doing that. He was disappointed that one was lost completely in the darkness. Others would try to save him but Kai skipped those steps, instead seeing him as evil and not worthy of Io's Light. This was unlike him but something about the other guy that set Kai off. Maybe it was because this was the first time he encountered a lost soul and wasn't prepared for it. He knew not the reason but he'd meditate and pray on it later, to gain some enlightenment.
"I'll give you one last chance, because I pity you. Release her and leave. I can tell you wish not to fight, neither do I but if you don't stand down, you'll be forcing my hand." He sounded sincere. He didn't want to fight, especially if he had to throw the first punch.[/style][STYLE= font-family: franklin gothic medium; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; color: #373737;]MADE BY CYANIDE CANDY ✖[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:300px, btable][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px; margin-top: 09px;]❝ Nanashi ❞[/style][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; margin-top: 05px; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px;]❝ 331 words ❞[/style][STYLE= margin-top: 05px; height: 100px; width: 100px; border-bottom-right-radius: 30px; border: #373737 solid 10px; background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/msdjdk.png);][/style][STYLE= color: #373737; font-size: 80px; margin-top: -43px; margin-left: -09px;]◤[/style]

Nanashi chuckled at the Monk's words. The sheer ridiculousness of it all. Surely nobody could be that naive? Ah, but the Ninja hadn't yet had his fill of amusement..."I'm surprised, Servant of Io. Surely one of the Light would realize that you stand in the presence of one who serves the Dark Lord, Oi; Io's evil twin who was birthed along with the rest of existence. Yes, something like that wouldn't be kept from you, it would be unconscionable for followers of Io to keep such dark secrets hidden away..." It was blatantly obvious that Nanashi was just bullshitting his way through this situation, but...
The Ninja pointed to the woman again, who was still struggling to get free of whatever magic bound her, "As the Avatar of Oi, I am master of Shadow...as has been demonstrated already. What powers does your God grant? Forgive me for being so forward, but I don't feel as though I'm about to be blasted with a beam of evil purging light." He sighed softly and raised his arm towards the woman, clenching his fingers into a very open fist, "If you don't turn around and walk away now, Servant of Io, I will tear this woman's soul from her body and feed it to my own Lord. But if you leave now...I may not. It's not my choice to make, really." He closed his eyes and shrugged, still wearing the same smirk as before.

No, it was impossible. Yep, he did. This young man before Kai had just openly mocked him. Not to mention speaking blasphemy against Io. Then again, not much was told to the younger generations about Io. So there was a possibility that this wicked soul was telling the truth. No, it was flat out impossible. Io was the Father of all, he had no brother. As a battle raged on within him, outwardly, nothing happened except his left eye twitched. There was just no proof to this self-proclaimed 'Avatar of Oi'. If the Almighty Io had an evil twin brother, then he'd be locked up in a special prison to prevent its influence from reaching this world. Therefore, Kai sufficiently believed that the 'Avatar' was full of shit.
"No matter what you say, I will not be fooled by your lies. You are wicked for trying deceive me. You are intentionally disregarding my warnings and not releasing the poor woman. For that, you shall be punished." He slid his right foot backwards, turning his body so his left side faced the Deceiver. "I should not warn you but out of the kindness in my heart, I shall. Prepare yourself to be defeated at the hands of justice!" He raised his arms, left arm extended with the hand out, palm up. The Ninja let his shoulders sag as he let out a prolonged sigh. Had the Monk only humored him, he'd have freed the woman...but now he had no choice but to keep her bound to him. He was sure that the Monk didn't completely dismiss his claim however, and that was good news. Very good news indeed! It meant that there may still be more fun to be had here. The man pulled another small blade from his clothes before flipping it around into a reverse grip and snickered, "You're so very devote to your Masters...no, that's not it, is it? It's not that you believe...it's that you fear what it would mean if they weren't telling you the truth. That the cause you've dedicated your entire life to was nothing more than a sham..."
The man's smirk split his features. It would only take just a little push to send the Monk over the edge- he was sure of it. So, he rushed forward while keeping his body low to the ground, his left arm covering his face while the right trailed behind with the kunai, "Question for you, Servant of Io! Why do you feel the need to continuously profess the greatness of your Lord in the same breath that you compliment your sense of good? Can you not do 'good' without the blessing of your God first?" Nanashi slowed his sprint as he came into range of the Monk, fully expecting the other man to try and attack him before the Ninja stabbed him in the chest.
Regardless of whether or not the Monk would try to counter, the Ninja would use Keburi no Sue to vanish before the Monk's eyes. When he reappeared a split second later, he would be sitting on the roof top directly in front of the Monk, close to where he'd been standing before running towards the Monk in the first place, "It's a funny word...'Justice'. Do you know what I think, Servant of Io? I think we're the same. The only difference is, I don't pretend to be something that I'm not. He'd offer the Monk a smirk and a wink to cap it off. He was fully aware of the intense irony of his statement, but paid it no mind. This conversation was about to become very amusing, he could tell.

He has shown to lie continuously and even go so far as to threaten another. Kai's first duty were to the protection and well being of the people, the second being to punish the wicked. If left alone, they would only spread destruction and turmoil. That was against the very life the Lotus Order was trying to create. Even though the woman's life was in danger, Kai must push the situation to its limits in a bid to throw the deceiver off and take the reins from him. It seemed the monk did just that, as the deceiver chose to attack Kai himself, big mistake. In an all out fight, Kai would surely win.
As the deceiver closed in, spouting his nonsense, Kai shrugged it off and made final preparations to throw down. Almost immediately, he pushed off the ground with his rear foot, launching himself forwards. He twisted his body so he landed safely and started to dash towards a dangerous collision. The deceiver seemed to be going for his chest, Kai raised his right hand and swung in a sweeping motion to deflect the attack at the man's wrist. Kai's left arm was pulled back, muscles coiled and ready to strike. However, things didn't go as his envisioned. Before any contact could be made, the deceiver vanished. Expecting the worst, the monk slid to a stop and ducked, twisting his body with his left arm out to strike at the possible enemy behind him. His hand met air and a voice from above made him stand up.
"We're nothing alike, Deceiver, you are wicked. I pretend nothing. I know who and what I am, a child of Io. A defender of the weak and innocent, a punisher of the wicked. There are many differences between you and I but I care not to get into those." He really didn't.
It was strange though. He felt a heat rising up within him. A heat he had only felt twice in his life. Both times he became angry and physically assaulted another. That was his one true weakness, the sin of wrath. As he stood there, his fists tightened to the point where his knuckles turned white He gazed idly at the woman in the alley with him, she was cowering in fear. In order to free her, the deceiver must be defeated. Kai's gaze went back up at the wicked man sitting on the rooftop at the top of the alley. The walls on both sides of him were close enough and he possessed the strength, speed and training required to do what was needed. Crouching down low, he coiled his leg muscles then ran at the alley wall in front of him, running up it.
He went a good three feet then jumped backwards, twisting his body so his feet made contact with the wall on the other side. Keeping his momentum, he jumped and twisted again and again and again until he flew up right in front of the deceiver. With no emotion on his face, he twisted his body once more, swinging a powerful kick to the side of the man's face with his right foot. Kai didn't like attacking another. He didn't like hurting people but this man brought this on himself. He was warned multiple times, given two last chances, as it were. Nanashi watched the Monk's demonstration of physical prowess with some measure of amusement. Truly, the Monk's ability was worthy of at least partial respect. The Ninja had barely begun clapping before the silver-haired Io worshiper lunged and tried to take his head off with a kick. He'd briefly considered raising the kunai in his hand in defense, letting the Monk impale his leg on the sharp blade...but Nanashi wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to elevate the situation to that point. Religious folk were always so hard to deal with...
Still, it wouldn't do to allow his mind to wander off the battle, lest he end up face down in some gutter. The Ninja snapped his left hand up, catching the Monk's ankle with his wrist before pushing upwards, deflecting the blow and most likely sending the Monk's leg sailing over his head. The Ninja sighed softly and shrugged, "You enjoy lecturing others, but you tend not to listen yourself." He closed one eye and pointed down towards where the woman still was, "Her bindings were released long ago, she simply gave up the will to attempt to fight my control. People like that...aren't at all interesting."
The Ninja moved his hands behind him, pressing the palms against the roof while leaning back onto them. Such a position left him completely open to any subsequent attacks, "I must say though, your actions seem rather strange. You preach peace, but here you are- having come for my head. But I don't recall ever attacking you. Even that woman, she was never harmed. Restrained for a moment, yes, but not harmed. Can you justify what you're doing now?" If the Monk tried to attack again, Nanashi would happily accept it. The Monk's violent outburst would hardly have amounted to anything if nothing came of it, after all.

Agility was probably all he had, besides a slick tongue and wicked soul. Looking at Kai's situation, most would say he was royally screwed. He was momentum was turned against him, causing him to flip in mid air. Normal people, that had somehow bounded off walls to get up there, would fall down and probably break something. Not Kai though, he had something in mind.
His leg had continued to sail over him, flipping him but he kept going, leaning his head back and down, to make a full flip. As he did, one of his hands shot out to grab the ledge of the roof the deceiver was sitting on. With a secure hold, his body arched downwards, his feet landing squarely on the wall. With that done, he pushed off and leaped backwards onto the roof opposite the ninja.
"Oh really? So you forgot how you charged at me, seemingly intent on running me through? In my mind, the intent is the same as the deed. The way you had her bound, lying and mocking me, you had it coming." He leveled his hand at him, pointing accusingly.
"I warned you many times but you didn't heed me and persisted beyond my tolerance. You have revealed your wicked soul to me. As for the way I acted, Io will absolve me of my mistakes..he is a forgiving Father." He gave his head a shake and lowered his arm.
"Since I have come to my senses, I shall give you another chance, leave now and I will forget your transgressions."[/style][STYLE= font-family: franklin gothic medium; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; color: #373737;]MADE BY CYANIDE CANDY ✖[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign, top][atrb=style, width:300px, btable][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px; margin-top: 09px;]❝ Nanashi ❞[/style][STYLE= color: #d5d5d5; font-family: franklin gothic medium, arial narrow; font-size: 10px; text-align: center; margin-top: 05px; text-transform: uppercase; background: #373737; padding: 05px;]❝ 273 words ❞[/style][STYLE= margin-top: 05px; height: 100px; width: 100px; border-bottom-right-radius: 30px; border: #373737 solid 10px; background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/msdjdk.png);][/style][STYLE= color: #373737; font-size: 80px; margin-top: -43px; margin-left: -09px;]◤[/style]
