A gigapede that wears the boots of those adventurers, who fell victim to it. Well it would be dangerous and when she turned around and looked at her party they could really have a better set-up. She only could find two more people to join her on this dangerous quest and she didn't know both. But I can really make a name around the adventures if I come back victorious. Maybe the knight just wanted to get his boot back and simply lied to her, because he was to afraid to go back and search it for himself. Together with Elias and Grungle she sneaked down to the third floor and knew that it would be dangerous to even move around. "Watch out for those Stalkers. If we attract one of them it's over and you just run for your lives.", she whispered to them and used the trees as cover to sneak by those big foes. She just hoped that both of them knew how to move without causing to much noise. "If you see a gigapede somewhere just speak up.", she whispered and slowly opened the first down. With a pretty bold gesture she showed them that they should just sneak through.[/style][style=background-color: #7a606f; width: 355px; border-left: 5px solid #7a606f; border-right: 5px solid #7a606f; color: #a8a8a8; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; border-top: 1px dashed #ffa858; padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px;] words: 223 tags: --- notes: --- credits: ZETTA! of BTN[/style] |

Grungle smiled, neigh un-noticable to one who could not read what that splaying out of mandibles into a fan-like shape meant. Neither of his allies could, he was sure. They seemed nice and capable enough, a leader, obviously some sort of priest or noble, judging on the great amount of metal armor covering her, more metal than Grungle could even comprehend. The other, a stoic man who was likely some sort freelance warrior or veteran of some warrior tribe. He also has interesting hair, mopy and falling over his face in little swatches. And it was brown, like soft soil. Grungle didn't want to touch his hair just yet, or Himeko's. It was likely not socially correct to do so.
Besides, there was much more important things to do now; stealth, namely. Grungle responded to Himeko's comments in his clicky, broken amalgamation of what was common speech in this area, the speech of some of the heretic tribes of his homeland. "I can outlook, great eyes for Grungle. No bad."

Elias looked back and forth between his two compainions. One of them, a pleasent looking girl named Himeko, was a princess. Of her lineage-or if she could be related to their queen- he had no ideas, and thought it might be rude to ask. The other was... some sort of bug-man? Elias didn't know. He'd taken this mission out of curiosity, but he never expected that his teammates might be more interesting than the actual quest.
Elias sighed, feeling a little... lackluster.
That is until he caught Grungle looking at his head. For a moment he entertained the idea of the insectiod biting off his head with his mandibles, before turning to Himeko.
"Yeah, no worries. I'll keep an eye out, too." And probably take a few blows, while you guys get to safety, he thought more than a little ruefully. Going down to the third floor with three men, they all must be insane or have deathwishes.
He shook his head and tried to keep a look on the bright side. His brothers would probably shit themselves, if he told them he helped kill a boot wearing gigapede. Elias smiled a little to himself; yeah, that's definately a plus.

He seemed to behave just like everyone would, but then he made this weird sounds that made shiver a bit. If he could fight than it probably was alright. Himeko waited until they both passed the door and closed it off again. it would probably take them a little bit longer than expected, because they had to be really careful not to attract any monsters. After a few minutes they found themselves in a small passage and Himeko noticed a tree, with big red flowers on its trunk. She remembered that knight mentioned such a tree. "It has to be around here somewhere.", she mumbled and approached the tree. She pick one of the flowers and had to smile. They were actually very pretty. Himeko heard a loud growling noise nearby and a giant gigapede suddenly burst through the woods in front of her. It was pretty clear that this giagapede was the one the knight mentioned.[/style][style=background-color: #7a606f; width: 355px; border-left: 5px solid #7a606f; border-right: 5px solid #7a606f; color: #a8a8a8; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; border-top: 1px dashed #ffa858; padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px;] words: --- tags: --- notes: --- credits: ZETTA! of BTN[/style] |

Grungle followed his allies, sticking to the shadows, gaiting around low to the ground with the occasional assistance of his left hand. They continued forward, Himeko leading them past a tree and deeper through the dungeon. Himeko clearly had listened to the armored warrior very closely, and was able to pick up on clues to track the creature. Grungle was sure he could do a very good job tracking, it was one of his specialties, but he did not understand most of what he had said. He talked about boots a lot, Grungle knew that, he was likely looking for a great treasure trove of boots. Grungle hoped he didn't know how many boots their were in the collection. Grungle wanted more boots.
Than suddenly, the Gigapede broke into view. Grungle took a step back and cocked back his arm, placing a rock in his palm, teardrop shaped and rough. This centipede was not all too different from the one's Grungle was used too but defiantly larger than he was used too, the one's on his islands where only about 7 feet long. Grungle tried to tell his allies that the creature's most accessible weakness, it it were like other centipedes, was the area under it's "chin". Beforehand, he was able to speak in a mostly understandable way to his allies, strange and hard to understand, but comprehensible. Now, due to his excitement in the moment, he attempted to relay this weakness in the the following way "Thin soft man in under head *click, c-c-click* break break neck Grungle want."

Silently, Elias watched Himeko pick flowers. While he didn’t doubt that she had misheard the knight, perhaps the knight wasn’t currently in possession of all of his marbles. “Maybe we should have brought an extra set of boots or something,” he mused out loud, “You know, to set as bait.”
Before he could fully work out the details of his ‘boots-as-bait’ plan, Ol’ Thousand Boots himself burst out from the underbrush. Elias had to stifle an excited giggle. The gigapede was even more epically ridiculous…no ridiculously epic…no even more awesome than Elias had imagined. He almost felt bad that they were about to kill this majestic bug thing, and take its hard earned boots.
Almost.
He angled his shield, so that it was partially blocking Himeko and covering Grungle. “All right.” Remembering that Grungle, the main offense of their party was a ranged fighter, his mind instantly began to formulate a plan, “We should keep moving, try to engage it at a distance, so that Grungle can engage it, but it can’t hit the Himeko and I—” Elias’ voice dropped off when he heard Grungle’s…words. Slowly, he turned his head to look at the bug-man, wrongly assuming that the “thin soft man” was him. He paused, uncertain if he should guard against the gigapede in front of them, or the bug man behind him.
He glanced at Himeko—as she was the only other non-bug in the area. “I knew it!” he whispered, even though he hadn’t really known it. “I know it! It’s a…a bugspiricy! That’s what it is!”

The rattling sound of metal boots that were shining in the faint light that fell into the labyrinth resounded in the forest. The boots were obviously from the corpse of dead adventures and stained in the now brown blood. Maybe they were able to beat him with the three of them but he sure would be hard to bring down. Himeko turned around the Grungle. "Make sure you give him hell from back there." Himeko yelled to Grungle and tunred to Thousand Boots again who let out a terrfying war cry and slowly approached the three of them. His disadvantage would sure be that he was big and that they could easily swarm him although his size was also an advantage because he could easily crush them with his huge body. Thousand Boots suddenly began to charge them and Himeko used this chance to slip past him and let Elias handle the rest. She could deal a fair ammount of damage from the front row too. Thousand Boots completely ignored the pink haired girl and headed straight for Elias. His big claws made a sharp noise and he launched his head towards Elias to cut him in half with his claws. In the mean time Himeko tried to figure out how she was supposed to get near to him with those many legs that were constantly moving. Maybe she could use a tree to jump on his back? himeko would instantly try that and sprinted of to the side to climb and tree and use it to jump on the gigapedes back.[/style][style=background-color: #7a606f; width: 355px; border-left: 5px solid #7a606f; border-right: 5px solid #7a606f; color: #a8a8a8; text-align: justify; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; border-top: 1px dashed #ffa858; padding-top: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px;] words: tags: --- notes: --- credits: ZETTA! of BTN[/style] |

Grungle appreciated that this priest/tribe leader woman-hueman was headstrong, rather than one who commands from the rear. Her strategy would back fire if the centipede began to roll, as ornery and upset centipede with gnats or other creatures on their back were like to do. There was only one simple solution, keep the large centipede attention focused on them. Grungle made a hard effort to be understandable, while this creature was bellowing in front of him. "Man-hueman, listen to pink hat, go to head! Make look upon you by attack it! Try push head up if can for chin soft Grungle time." he also called up to Himeko "Mind pink hat, chin chin."
Grungle than added his own contribution to the fight. "Grungle will show you that sometimes tiny is best!" He rocketed his arm forward, unleashing the small stone within, pelting the creature in the head with the rock. Grungle heard a dull cracking sound, but otherwise no visible effect. Grungle pulled one of his larger rocks higher up on the bandolier, jagged and about the size of a baseball and tried to see if the softer armored skin on his torso. He cocked back and left fly with a low, unobtrusive whooing sound, it cracked the skin visibly and left a jagged three point mark. Grungle was pleased, he smiled a little as he cocked a more well prepared rock, one carved in a rough pointed teardrop shape. He would slay this beast and weave a piece of it's armored head into his clothes, for good luck.

Elias didn’t falter when the gigapede lunged at him. “Okay, fine.” He yelled at Thousand Boots, “You wanna play, let’s play!” He lunged forward as well, directly towards the gigapede’s gaping mouth, leading with his shield. He ducked behind the shield, and moved in close so that the gigapede couldn't hit him with his boots.
With one quick thrust, he slammed the shield into its mouth. The gigapede’s mandibles locked around Elias’ shield, it reared up and shook its head, attempting to knock Elias aside, and probably then steal his boots. Elias braced his shoulder against the shield and dug his feet in, trying to push the gigapede’s head up so that Grungle and Himeko could get a clear shot at its neck.
Though he couldn’t see it, he could hear the rocks whizzing past him and the dull thwaps they made against the gigapede’s exoskeleton.
The gigapede reared and shook its head again, trying to dislodge from Elias. “Hey come on, you’re playing with me, big boy!” He rammed the creature again with his shield, and thrust it to the side, hopefully giving his two companions a clear shot at its neck.

There had been cartridge rides which had been rough in Himeko’s life but being on the back of this monster certainly topped everything and she couldn’t even get up. She got a hold of one of the carapace plates that protected the entire body of the gigapede. That Thousand Boots was actually fighting Elias at the moment and was whirling his body around like crazy didn’t much help in that particular case. Azusa tried to push the tip of her blade right between these plates and cut into the soft flesh beneath but she had a hard time even aiming for the right spot and the consequence would probably be that the gigapede would throw her off like a rodeo jockey.
But Elias suddenly gave her a moment and Thousand Boots stopped moving underneath her knees. With a strong thrust she pierced her rapier into the soft flesh of Thousand Boots. The gigapede screamed and raised the front part of his body into the air leaving Himeko clinging to the grip of her rapier with both hands. Well the rapier was pretty much stuck and she was hanging about 4 meters in the air. “Make him!” She just yelled and tried to rest her feet at one of the plates, but she couldn’t get a secure hold. Well she didn’t want to jump down and maybe break her ankle so she was hoping the others could somehow bring Thousand Boots into lowering his head again.

Grungle was worried about Himeko, she was likely going to be bucked off the large centipede. Elias was likely the only one to be able to help directly, so Grungle had one task. A task that he had trained much of his life for, striving to be the grade he was required to be to protect all of his family and friends.
Grungle had to do one thing now; throw.
Grungle cocked back his arm and sent the pointed rock sailing over Elias's head and sinking it into the beast's skin. It did not seem to bother it much more than the other rocks he threw, but it bothered it, it seemed to stun it for a moment, giving Elias a precious inch in his tug of war. So Grungle went for quantity over quality and just began cocking back and letting sail with rocks at a speed of about a 2 rocks every three seconds, aiming only enough so as to not hit his allies. "Grungle is rock rain man of big braveness!" He yelled in triumph.

Elias was too caught up in his game of tug of war with the gigapede to notice Himeko and her devious plan. Though he was able to hold the gigapede in place the creature was much larger and probably much stronger than he was, and already he could feel his joints being jostled around in their sockets.
He only looked up when he hear Himeko’s yelling.
“Holy shit.” He yelled and quickly ducked to avoid Grungle’s rocks.
Taking advantage of the gigapede’s momentary daze, he yanked his shield down, forcing Thousand Boots to lower its head, hopefully allowing Himeko to get off safetly.

Himeko couldn’t see what was happening in front of her but she suddenly noticed that Thousand boots was lowering his head again. This was her chance to jump of but she wouldn’t jump off without dealing some more damage to him. Himeko turned her rapier inside his soft flesh around leaving a big hole from which the gigapede starting bleeding immediately and when her feet suddenly touched ground again she jumped of and rolled to the back of the gigapede where she just slammed tip of her rapier between his carapace plates again. Thousand screamed and Himeko suddenly noticed that he had turned his head around and his sharp claws where facing her now.
With a fast side sewp he through Himeko of his back and hit Elias side with his massive body. Grungle was pretty annoying with his stones, but that pink little beast with her tiny needle was just annoying for him at the moment and he would sure cut her little body in half with his huge claws. “Guard Order!” Himeko just screamed and could feel that her wounds where slowly healing and that she felt a little bit refreshed. Himeko knew that she wouldn’t be able to completely evade his attack by now and when Thousand Boots launched his head forward she could just minimize the damage. The huge claws cut in her belly and left two rather deep wounds on her upper body. Himeko stumbled backwards and nearly bit her tongue when she screamed.
The gigapede suddenly curled up and began to roll towards Elias and Grungle to crush them with its huge body though it was still slow. Thousand Boots would leave that pink princess be for now and focus on crushing that stone throwing maniac who actually inflicted huge damage while she was trying harder and harder to his weak spots.

Grungle saw the priest Lady-Hueman take the brunt of the creatures sharp claws. This centipede had claws? "Dangus..." Grungle whispered one of the foulest curses of his people under his breath. He palmed another stone in a fluid motion when the creature laid horizontal and began to roll right at him, a popular tactic among centipedes against creatures smaller than they. "Dangus!" Grungle now yelled, hurling his stone to little effect and running from the creature. He could not outrun it's roll in the small quarters, he realized, and, without much option, took cover behind a small tree that was only about the diameter of his thigh.
The large centipede struck the tree and it sheered in half with a visceral Shack! It plowed into the back of Grungle's head and sent him reeling to the floor, but luckily the boot-creature was stopped in his tracks, for now at least. Grungle was left dazed as the tree hit the ground near him, getting to his feet more sluggishly than he would really like to.
If Grungle knew his head was thicker than a hueman skull, he would be very grateful right now.

It turned out that Elias didn’t need to worry about Grungle’s rocks. The gigapede reared from Himeko’s attacks and smashed into him, sending Elias crashing to the ground, and his brain banging against his skull.
He’d definitely feel that in the morning.
At least the gigapede spat out his shield before it began to curl up and roll towards Grungle and him. He managed to duck out of the way (in part helped by the gigapede tossing him) and watched as the gigapede smashing into the tree and then the tree smash into Grungle. The bug man seemed to be ok, but he was moving more sluggishly than before.
He stood. “OI, Thousand Boots.” He yelled, provoking the gigapede. Gestureing as if to say, ''come at me bro."
The beast looked up and him, and curled being to roll towards him. Elias crouched, despite the fact that his vision was still swimming a bit, he was ready to give the gigapede a run for its money—and hopefully distract it long enough that Himeko and Grungle could kill it before it killed him.
And then stole his God damn boots.
