They have no special attacks, so they don't normally pose a huge threat to explorers, even in large numbers. Treerats scurry around and nip at their opponents' heels, but will run away if they believe the explorers pose a huge threat. Name | Woodfly Location | First Stratum - Floors 1-3 Skills | Whirr - binds the head, preventing the use of magic and most support skills Weakness | Volt Resistance | none Woodflies are hand sized butterflies and are mostly harmless monsters, but will attack explorers who invade their home. With their Whirr attack, Woodflies can prevent explorers from using magic, as it is one of their weaknesses. These monsters are plentiful, but rather weak. They hardly even pose a threat to a magic using party. Name | Venomfly Location | First Stratum - Floors 1-5 Skills | Poison - Poisonous spores are thrown at the party, causing the Poison status ailment Weakness | Volt Resistance | Status Ailments, except Instant Death Venomflies are a more advanced breed of Woodfly, capable of poisoning anything in its path by releasing an airborne poison. These butterflies are much more hostile, and due to their poisonous nature, can be very dangerous for lower leveled explorers. Be sure to kill them as quick as possible, or get some poison resistant armor. Venomflies rarely appear on the early floors, but may ambush an unexpected party every once in a while, so be on guard at all times. Name | Woodmai Location | First Stratum - Floors 1-5 Skills | Shell - raises defense Weakness | Volt Resistance | Physical Attacks Woodmai are strange shell dwelling creatures that live in the upper levels of the Yggdrasil Labyrinth. They are relatively weak, so most will hide their soft bodies in their thick shells in order to survive attacks from explorers and predators. Keep them from using their Shell skill, else these easy battles could end up taking a while, allowing other monsters to join the fight... Name | Kingmai Location | First Stratum - Floor 5 Skills | Mucus - spits saliva at a single target, binding their arms and legs. Weakness | Volt Resistance | Stab Attacks Kingmai are the alpha Woodmai and, as such, rarely go into battle without multiple Woodmai at their side. Like Woodmai, they have a tough shell to hide in, except their shells are made of super tough iron, granting them higher defense. Kingmai generally have one main attack strategy: bind an explorer in place with their Mucus skill, and continue to attack that explorer, only diverting their attention away to bind another enemy. Name | Mole Location | First Stratum - Floors 2-5 Skills | Claws - attacks three party members Weakness | Fire, Ice Resistance | none These deadly moles have grown in the Labyrinth, gaining vicious claws and a sense of bloodlust. They have incredibly powerful strength, so it is best to try to avoid these creatures if you're a beginning adventurer, especially since they like to attack in pairs. However, if you manage to catch one on its own, or are up to the challenge, they have rather low defenses, so it shouldn't take long to knock them down. Moles tend to be more active at night. Name | Forest Hare Location | First Stratum - Floors 2-5 Skills | none Weakness | none Resistance | none These monstrous rabbits roam around deeper levels of the Mythril Garden and tend to appear in lesser numbers at night. Despite their cute and fluffy appearance, these creatures are actually rather strong, so don't fight them on low health. However, they have low defenses and can be taken down easily by a party with most of their health. It's best not to underestimate Forest Hares...but you'll survive even if you do. Name | Deadly Durian Location | First Stratum - Floors 2-4 Skills | Thorn - Binds the head of a single party member Decay Breath - may inflict plague on multiple party members (when paired with Titan Arum) Weakness | Fire Resistance | none Despite looking like harmless monsters, these fruit-like beasts are resilient, and will take a few hits to take down completely. Due to their horrible smell, Deadly Durian have a chance of inflicting the party with plague when paired with Titan Arums, and their thorny vines will keep you from seeing properly. On their own, these monsters are not much of a threat, but, when paired with others, the tables may turn. Name | Titan Arum Location | First Stratum - Floors 2-4 Skills | Vine Dance - attacks all members of the front row Decay Breath - may inflict plague on multiple party members (when paired with Deadly Durian) Summon Deadly Durian - can summon a Deadly Durian into battle if one is not already present Weakness | Fire Resistance | none This giant plant-like monster crawls around on claw-like appendages and whips at prey with its long, spiked vines. Titan Arum smell awful, and, when paired with the equally pungent Deadly Durian, the two can inflict plague on exploration parties. This plant is very strong and resilient, so it may be best to take it out with fire or run, especially if it comes along with friends. Even on its own, it has the chance to swipe at the entire front row. Name | Great Lynx Location | First Stratum - Floor 3 Skills | Bite Off - Does heavy damage to a single party member Weakness | Fire Resistance | none These creatures are the reason many low leveled exploration parties go missing in the Labyrinth. Great Lynxes tend to catch explorers off guard, as they are much more powerful than most of the monsters in the Garden, and can easily maul an entire party to death if they are not careful. It is recommended to run away from these beasts if possible, especially at lower levels. Name | Gigapede Location | First Stratum - Floors 3-4 Skills | 100-Leg Bind - Wraps around the target, completely binding them. Weakness | Volt Resistance | none These night dwelling insects are hardly a threat, as they have moderate attack and defense, but it is their capability to bind an opponent that explorers should be careful of. It's best to defeat them quickly, as they are adept night fighters. Even in packs though, they can be defeated with a few good hits. Name | Roller Location | First Stratum - Floors 3-5 Skills | Rolling - curls into a ball and raises defense Weakness | Ice, Volt Resistance | Physical Attacks Rollers, while small creatures, have a tough protective shell, giving them some of the highest defense amongst the monsters in the First Stratum. On top of that, they also have relatively high offensive power, as they will roll into a ball and throw themselves at attackers. Be careful when these are paired up with other monsters, as they can be a handful even on their own. Name | Mandrake Location | First Stratum - Floors 3-5 Skills | Corrode - Lowers party defense Weakness | Fire Resistance | One hit KO, Ice, Volt, Stats, Leg Bind These plant-like creatures are relatively weak, especially against fire, but they manage to survive with their many resistances and by pairing up with other monsters. Their corrode skill can lower party defense, which will become a huge problem if other monsters decide to join in the battle. Name | Ladybug Location | First Stratum - Floor 4 Skills | Blink - raises the monster's speed, allowing them to attack more than once for a few turns. Weakness | Volt Resistance | none This spotted beetle is incredibly fast and likes to take down enemies quickly with its needle arms. Other than their speed, these monsters are generally weak but will summon Raflesia to fight with them if they are in danger. Name | Raflesia Location | First Stratum - Floor 4 Skills | Pollen - may paralyze the entire party Weakness | Fire Resistance | Physical Attacks, Volt These highly dangerous plants rarely attack unless they are summoned by Ladybugs. Due to their large size, and multiple leafed vines, these monsters can pose a huge threat. Their poisonous pollen can paralyze a party so the Raflesia can pick them off slowly. Name | Venomshroom Location | First Stratum - Floors 4-5 Skills | Poison Spores - unleashes poison on the entire party when this monster is killed Weakness | Volt Resistance | Physical Attacks These cute little mushroom monsters are relatively weak, but explorers should be careful. If they are killed, these mushrooms release poisonous spores as a last resort effort to kill off intruders. It is best to save these monsters for last when they are in groups with other monsters. Name | Cube Gel Location | First Stratum – Floor 5 Skills | Acid – lowers party’s attack power. Weakness | Fire, Ice, Volt Resistance | Physical Attacks These wiggling masses of sentient ooze aren’t as weak as they look. Strangely enough, the gel that makes up their body is too thick and hard to pierce through with even the sharpest weapons. This is why many turn to magic to defeat these creatures, but it is possible to defeat them with normal weapons. Find ways to bypass their physical defense and the battle may not last forever. Name | Hypnowl Location | First Stratum – Floor 5 Skills | Powder – Puts the party to sleep. Weakness | Stab Resistance | none This intricately colored Owl lives in the depths of the Labyrinth and survives by lulling prey to sleep before feasting on them. When it flaps its wings, the Hypnowl hypnotizes explorers with its dazzling patterns and the sleeping powder from its feathers. While it might seem like a good idea to shoot these down with arrows and spears, the Hypnowl is great at avoiding piercing projectiles, so it may be better to use swords and clubs, or magic if you would prefer to stay at a distance. Name | Crawler Location | First Stratum - Floor 5 Skills | Web - Binds the feet of party members, preventing them from escaping. Weakness | Volt, Fire Resistance | none These mostly nocturnal insects are about the height of a human and have a massive amount of health. To go along with that, they have strong attack power, and their Web skill can keep party members from escaping battle. They typically attack one at a time, so ganging up on it and killing it as quickly as possible is the best course of action. [/style] |
