"Sir, I would request you don't attempt to try and make statements about my life. You do not know a single thing about me," Saya said to the ninja. Really...to be so presumptuous, was he really a ninja? From her experience, such people were supposed to be smart, and not say utterly stupid things. Her grandfather, failed? Hardly.
The ones that had failed had been her parents, but she understood people weren't perfect. That...things happened. The young Shogun frowned as she sheathed her sword. Yeah...things happened, her parents had made a simple mistake, that was all. It was bound to happen one day to her, too, if she continued adventuring. Maybe she could just go the route her grandfather had gone, and mentor people on how to fight. And teach them of the shogun ways. "I am not a hero. Simply someone who realizes what must be done," she added to him.
Clearly, from her tone of voice, she did not hold too high of an opinion of him right at that moment. And very likely wouldn't hold a high opinion of him for a while, since he didn't seem to be too nice of a person, from what she had seen so far. "And I can look out for myself just fine. It'd be YOU who I am worried about."

Ethan startled when Nanashi just started laughing. He’d been relieved when the man had said he didn’t want to fight at the moment, but he was thinking he was probably right about Saya. She could have left things alone but instead she’d decided to attack.
“I’ll keep an eye on her,” Ethan said in response to Nanashi. “She shouldn’t have attacked you but she’s probably not the only one at fault either…” The boy’s pointed stare at that comment hopefully got the message across that Nanashi was also partly to blame.
Saya spoke up then and Ethan just about threw his hands in the air. “Saya please…” Stop trying to provoke him, he finished in his head.

The Ninja cupped a finger against his chin, looking over the pair before shrugging with a smirk on his face, "There's more to be said here, but I think we'll have more than enough time for that later."
He ruffled the girl's hair again before turning to leave, although he did stop to address the man before heading off. The raven-haired man had an uncharacteristically solemn expression at first, "You, though...there's-" He cut himself off before returning to his normal, affable attitude, "Y'know, nevermind!" With that out of the way, he flashed the young man a bright smile before moving to take his leave of the pair.

"Oh come on Ethan! I should think it obvious I'm not gonna fight with him now, not after I put my weapons away. He ain't worth it," she said with a sigh and a shrug. Then? Then she simply walked towards Ethan and stopped beside him, keeping her gaze on the ninja the whole while. She did say she wouldn't attack him, yes, but that didn't necessarily mean she trusted him. Not that much, though Ethan didn't seem to dislike him.
And Ethan seemed like a decent person. Hm...perhaps she was wrong. She'd give people more benefit of the doubt in the future. It was then he ruffled her hair again, and she blushed a bit in embarrassment. He was still treating her like a kid! "Be careful out there Nanashi! Some people you upset might not even give you warning before they attack." she helpfully informed him.

"I'm sorry Saya, it's just...there's been a lot of excitement for one day," he said. "Certainly enough for me. I mean...you just got here after all."
Nanashi ruffled the girls hair then before turning to Ethan, saying something cryptic and odd. What? His eyebrows scrunched together as he tried to puzzle out what the older man could have meant. He would have said something, but he was already moving to leave and Ethan didn't really want to start something.
Saya's warning to the ninja then would probably be a good thing for him to listen to. Not even here all that long and he'd already instigated several disagreements. Somehow, Ethan didn't think the man would listen though.
"Good luck in finding somewhere to stay," he said cheerfully, happy mask back in place. "I hope it doesn't inconvenience you overmuch." It was always better to be nice to people than to be surly after all, even if you didn't entirely mean it.

A lot of excitement? Pfft, hardly. All that had happened was meeting this admittedly strange ninja. Now that she thought about it though, had he ever really said his name or anything? She didn't think so. Which worried her a little bit; had she shared her name with him?
Saya dearly hoped not, it wasn't proper for one to introduce oneself and then not get an introduction back. Then again, Nanashi was anything but proper, from what she had seen so far, so perhaps this was to be expected. "...Sheesh, he was weird. Don'tcha think so?" Saya asked with a smile to the white-haired boy next to her. At least he she could respect, although he had been treating Nanashi way too kindly when he had been there. Something to watch out for, or so she thought. "So...I guess this is where we part?" she asked of Ethan, a little disappointed.
It would be nice to have some sort of company to talk to. And he was certainly a nice guy, having healed her and all earlier, before Nanashi had shown up.

Ethan watched as Nanashi walked away before turning back to Saya. "Yeah..." He said, drawing it out. "Still, best not to judge. Everyone deserves a chance. But you're right. That was...weird."
What Nanashi had said before his departure was still bothering the white-haired boy. What could he possibly have been about to say?
"I suppose it is time to part." Ethan said in response to Saya's question. He could hear the reluctance in her voice. "I'm sure we'll see each other again eventually. Perhaps we'll get a chance to explore the labyrinth together sometime. But I do have errands to run I'm afraid, so I must say my goodbyes."
He started to walk away then, turning back to wave before continuing on.
